Hi all,

Using Dell Inspiron 530n.

I finally got round to upgrading from 8.04 -> 8.10 -> 9.04 today.

All seemed to go fine until I rebooted. It gets to what should be the login screen then my display goes blank with some random inverted colours here and there.

Have tried both xfix and dpkg from recovery. Also tried setting my xorg.conf to the failsafe version. No change.

If anyone could help I would be most grateful.

Cheers.

I had this same problem after upgrade. My son fixed it quickly from the grub.

Hi fivevolts,

Could you say more about what the solution was? Did your system come with Ubuntu pre-installed?
