Got a refurb Mini 9 a couple of weeks ago with either 8.04 or 8.10, but I never took note of how much space the install took up. I hackintoshed it soon after getting it, and that takes up almost all of the 8gb ssd--I had to do some serious trimming to get myself 1.12gb of space clear.
I installed OS X because I need to run MS Office--I cannot get by with OO for what I need. So what I'm looking for is enough space to comfortably run wine/crossover/playonlinux and Office 2007.

OS X is fun and all, but I'd really like to be running linux, probably either 8.10 or 9.04. How much space am I going to get back if I switch back?

to do a vanilla install of Ubuntu 9.04 netbook remix took up 2.0 GB for me. (before the updates) with the "/" partition.

with all the restricted extras/flash and adding adobe reader/java.. I believe it took about almost 3.1 GB for me
