I've got a 8.10 server running on a headless server (ie no screen, keyboard etc..) - I'd like to run XFCE and the FreeNX server on this system so I can access a GUI on the server remotely (spare me the server vs. GUI speeches - it's a small server for personal use)

I've installed XFCE4 using apt (which installed the X server as well) but when I launch the X it complains about the lack of a monitor.. Is there any way to get X running along with the FreeNX server from the console - as in - without hooking up a monitor to do the configuration ?
