Hi guys,
I'm new in the GNU/Linux world, and I installed an Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit on my acer aspire 6930g laptop.
I like to play the Regnum online game, in fact it runs really good, but I'm not able to minimize it to use firefox or other browsers when I want to.
I tried a lot of hotkeys, like ALT+ENTER, CTRL+ALT+D, ALT+EXIT, but nothing appened..
Is there a way to do it?
I found a solution for Enemy Terrory, that is ETSwitch, but it doesn't work for Regnum Online..
Thanks in advance ):P

I think it's not possible to minimize some games (a bit annoying). You can try to switch to a different workspace, press CTRL+ALT+Left/Right Arrow and see if it works.

wow, Regnum actually looks fun. I'll give it a try asap. I normally play FF XI online and WoW, but I'm always looking for something new. Free is nice too.
UPDATE: I installed Regnum and played it a bit, it is pretty fun. The graphics are almost better than the dated FF XI online. Alt+Enter worked fine for me after letting it patch to the latest version. Minimizing worked as you'd expect it to... Well it went window mode then I was able ot minimize it but it worked fine.

Well.. I tried ALT+ENTER like you said, but nothing happened..
I don't understand why it doesn't work for me.. sigh..
I will try again tomorrow.. maybe I will have better luck.
Thanks
Bye bye

Most fullscreen games aren't meant to be minimized this is just the way things are in some cases.

Fullscreen handling is quite horrible in most games and in other games it's perfect.
Cedega for example handles minimizing perfectly whereas emulators and a LOT of other games don't even let you use the volume keys from your keyboard.
(Very annoying on a laptop when you realise that your volume is way too high)
I guess we should file a bug for every single app that doesn't handle Alt+Tab, Alt+Enter and other special keyboard keys well.
this is just the way things are in some cases
Things should be broken by default, broken stuff is just waiting to be fixed.

The problem with minimize for many games is SDL that is having trouble with it and therefor the games have as well, but here is the wonderful world of Linux, just have two desktops and you can use CRTL+ALT and arrow keys to switch between them no need to leave fullscreen mode ever :) just have all other stuff on the second desktop :)

It has been some time since I played regnum online but Im pretty sure there was a way to minimize it... or there might not be.
You might need to run the game in windowed mode (but big enough window to make it look like fullscreen and then press ESC or something to get to the menu, from there you'll lose the focus of the game until you click it again. So then you cal alt+ctrl+→ away from it.
Many games also have console, so ingame you can press the console button and alt+ctrl+→ away from it :P

Things should be broken by default, broken stuff is just waiting to be fixed.
A fullscreen program not being able to be minimized does not mean it's broken.
It just means that the feature was not written into it... sheesh.
