Hello,

I just built a system. It should be more than powerful enough to run both of these games as I played them on my laptop that only had a 64mb gpu.

This new system is 64bit and has a NVidia 9600GT gpu and after a few minutes of game play, the game turns to a small window and the mouse no longer works. (can't "steer") the keyboard seems to work fine and I can fire using the mouse.

Any ideas what the problem is? Or things I can check?

Mods: We need a freaken sticky for this...

The problem is either your screensaver or Compiz. Try disabling the screensavor first and see if that does the trick.

That's a good point. I have compiz running on this one and couldn't run it on the laptop. Thanks.

It was compiz. Thanks a million. I was worried my GPU was shot.

Believe me, it doesn't help. The majority doesn't read the stickies, even if it's bend in flashing neon.

Glad to hear you got it working. Next time google your question first, You'll usually get a 'much' faster response then posting and waiting.

Yeah, I 'did' notice that. But at least then we'd save our fingers and just post a link...I guess I have to work up a blog post (http://bioselement.com/blog/2009/05/15/ubuntu-fullscreen-loses-focus-cannot-move-mouse/) about this. >.>
