View Full Version : [ubuntu] problems with deleting a panel applet

does anybody know how i can delete a panel applet called gnomenu i tried to install it the other day and it installed perfectly but when i went to find it on the add to panel menu i clicked on it and got an error saying that i encountered a problem loading "OAFIID:Gnome_gnomenu" anybody know how to remove this applet

try typing in the terminal

sudo apt-get remove gnomenu

i tried that already it says cant find package

There is a application in the synatic manager called.

gnome-main-menu that is a GNOME start menu applet

Is this what you tried to install? If not maybe this is what you want or you could go to this application in synatic and uninstall it.

no its not gnome main menu its just gnomenu and its not in any of those packages

nope says file is not installed i didnt install it as a deb file i used the cd command to install the file cause it was just a folder

Well, I am out of ideas. One thing I have had to do however when I get hung up like this is, completely install the application and then uninstall it.

Good luck on finding a solution, sorry I could not help more.
