When I first installed Jaunty, it seemed that nautilus was broken. It died on me when trying to move large files from a CD to the file system, and after that it just wouldn't autostart anymore. So that meant no desktop icons and no right clicking.

Now I've made it so that nautilus auto starts when I log in, but now the problem is that it doesn't seem to be registered as the app that's supposed to handle stuff with the file:// prefix. So whenever I try to the use places menu, I just get an error message saying:

Could not open location: 'file:///home/nevon'
No application is registered as handling this file

If I install Thunar or some other file manager that just steps in and works just fine, but I really like Nautilus (when it works).

Any ideas on how to fix this?
