I use 'gnome mplayer' to stream internet radio into my house. It seems to run for 5 hours and stop. I can restart it with out any problems.
I have looked on the net and here but do not find any mention of this problem. I have searched my PC for a configuration file or an option to correct this and drawn a blank.
It is quite annoying especially when you are just dozing off to sleep or if I have sent it to the front porch speaker and I have to climb stair to restart it.
Can anyone help?

Hi Silvernail,
I use 'gnome mplayer' to stream internet radio into my house. It seems to run for 5 hours and stop. I can restart it with out any problems.
I don't use GNOME MPlayer as such, but I am a very keen user of its back end MPlayer. Is there a setting with GNOME MPlayer to increase the cache that MPlayer uses to buffer the stream? If you set this to something big like 8192 this might be the answer.
All the best,
Andrew

Thanks, lets see what happens around 3:30 this PM.

Increasing the cache in 'Gnome-mplayer' did not solve the problme.
Would anyone else have anything to contribute?
I used 'locate gnome | grep conf' and found a 'gnome-mplay' configure file but if the answer it in there.I don't know what I'm looking for.
I was using the audio player in Firefox and had the same porblem. Firefox used mplayer for the audio
Could this be a 'shoutcast' problem?.
