unable to create files or drag files to desktop

Hello All,

I've installed 9.04 unr on an EEE PC 900a. I use just the classic desktop, I don't care for the netbook view.

It was working fine after install yesterday, but now I can not create files on the desktop or drag files to the desktop. I can create/drag files to the Desktop folder under my home directory, but they do not show up on my desktop.

Any idea how I can correct this problem?

More information....also I can't right click and get a menu on the desktop. IF I create a new user, it works fine, I can right click and create a file or launcher etc...but not with my old accounts...hope this helps clarify
