I am using Ubuntu 8.04 (AMD-64) and had AT&T Mercury correctly installed and working under kernel version 2.6.24-23. Then I installed the update. "lsusb" still recognizes the Sierra Wireless device, and Network manager still lists "GSM Connection 1" under "Mobile Broadband". I tried re-installing the driver (v1.3.1b_Kernel2.6.24), and am told that all files are up to date. The problem is that no GSM connections are listed when I click the connection manager like they were 2 days ago. I do have a signal. Anyone else have the same prob? Anyone who might know what's wrong with my configuration? I need to have this resolved before I go back to the ship in 2 weeks as this is my only means of communication with my wife and children for the next 3 months. Please help!
