Mythtv show database crash

I've been running a mythtv box for a two or so years, when I upgraded to 9.04 (jaunty jackalope) I started seeing a problem. I don't regularly check my box, which is a combined frontend/backend. When I do check it I just use mythweb to see what I've recorded that day. Recently when checking mythweb I've noticed that no shows had recorded for that day even though they should have. So i look at "upcoming recordings" and no shows are listed. None at all. I know that some shows should be recording so this is quite strange.


I've discovered that if I run mythfilldatabase everything will come back and mythtv will recognize that it does have upcoming recordings. Mythfilldatabase doesn't hang and completes so this isn't an issue with not marking new showings.

The last thing I should say is that I have my computer turn off at night and on in the morning each day. I completed a database fill last night and then this morning there was no data. I assume the restart has something to do with it, but I just don't know.

If anyone has any ideas feel free to post.

Good call phroman. My issue was the same as your issue. Thank you very much. I hope that this is a bug that gets fixed at some point.
