You only have to pay one time to play guildwars :)

There is no monthly fee.

Guild wars is one time payment, but you still have to pay for the expansions and stuff. Wished that we had more games like those =/

Just to sum it all up in one reply: Guild Wars requires a one-time purchase minimally. You can play indefinitely from this point on, however if you wish to download expansions and gain access to whatever new features these expansions include, you have to pay a one-time fee for each expansion that you buy.

I have something to add (just that I won't be nagged anymore that I could post sometime): AFAIK, GW won't run in Wine. That is a great disadvantage, but I installed it in XP. Apparently, GW runs fine in Cedega, but I just don't like the subscription fee. I don't want to pay twice to play a game. That is absurd.

If you like Counterstrike or TC:E on the one hand, and Diablo or Dungeon Siege on the other hand, you'll just love Guild Wars. :)

The CVS version of Cedega is available for free download, and it can play Guild Wars, at least mine can.

I've had a go at installing WineCVS Cedega, got stopped by an error, so I started a new thread with a more appropriate name in the hope of drawing assistance from the forum.

Here's a link to the thread if your interested:

See how we go eh!?
