Ohh I would love to install this theme. But the following link doesn't work: http://iack.altervista.org/macosx.tar.gz

Is it possible that traffic is limited on altervista?

thanks

If you download the file there's a README, it has the directories you need to copy things too. One thing to note is that to copy anything into /usr/share/ then you must use sudo. Also one of the directories it tells you to put things in has a typo. It should say "gdm" instead of "fdm".

Once they're installed press the system button, then preferences, then themes, for wallpapers follow the same steps but press "wallpaper" instead of "themes".

Looks nice, but I think I'll stick with Glossy P and Nuvola for now.

How do you install this theme? The Readme file is totally useless. It points to the wrong directories and doesn't contain hardly any information on what to do. Any step by step instructions, or does this theme not work with Ubuntu 5.04?

I really thought the readme file was not helpful. I kept getting an error message saying that I cannot copy the gdm files to the usr/share/gdm/theme folder. How can I install this theme?

You need to copy them as root (or superuser) ie.: sudo cp <files> You<can't do it as a regular user.

I'm going to go ahead and guess the link worked when it was posted over 3 years ago. Don't get all up in arms because some link is unfortunately down. The last post the OP even made was over two months ago. Banning him for such a thing is a bit extreme, if you want some sort of admin action, the more sensible thing would be to edit his post to say the link is no longer available.
