Hi.

Didn't find any solution using the search feature of this forum ...

I use a pretty old GeForce3 Ti200. When I install Ubuntu 9.02, the max. resolution is 800x600. However the card can do much more. I'd like to use 1280x1024, like for the Windows XP partition on the same computer.

Where do I get the new drivers from?

... later ...

I tried the "NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (version 96)" (proposed by Ubuntu), but this one also provides only 640x480 and 320x240 resolutions ;(

Thanks,

geohei

Hi.

No answer yet ... ;(

Does nobody know this, or was the question not clear (shall I rephrase)?

Still no answer

Does really nobody know this?

I cannot work with this crappy 800x600 on my 1280x1024 screen.

Thanks,

Riaku

Have you update through the up date manager?
System> Administration> Update Manager?

@mdmarmer
Good thread (!), but I don't even find the NVIDIA drivers mentioned in that thread :(

After some more tries ...

I downloaded this file:

Linux Display Driver - x86

Version: 96.43.13
Operating System: Linux x86
Release Date: July 01, 2009
http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/96.43.13/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-96.43.13-pkg1.run
No sure if was the correct one ...

Instructions on installation were here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=912485

After that, all worked fine! I have my 1280x1024 now!

Thanks a lot!!!
