This is really weird, Kubuntu usually has KDE point releases available on release day, but there is no mention of KDE 4.2.3 anywhere. I checked Kubuntu.org and there is no mention of it there either. Anyone know when it's going to hit?

It was released on May 6th apparently but it's not made it into the KDEmod repos yet

I'm hoping it does soon, because there are some issues that I'm hoping are fixed.

From http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.2.3
"KDE 4.2.3 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 9.04.
To install it add this line to your software sources.
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
Then refresh and do a full upgrade."

Its only on PPA. So its never going to hit jaunty updates? Can any one say why its so?

in the german ubuntuusers forum I read that it will come for Jaunty (don't know if also for Intrepid) but testing has to be finished.

It's always been this way. It's primarily due to the fact that the 18 month support cycle is a lie.

According to kubuntu.org, the correct PPA is...
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
i did also try the kubuntu-experimental ppa and they have the same package. I suggest to try to kubuntu-experimental ppa because it also have the package for the plasma-widget-network-manager and amarok 2.

The answer from kubuntu maintainers is nope...
"There are no plans for any new KDE versions for Intrepid." --http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kubuntu-users/2009-May/042832.html
Well, that leaves us Intrepid users, many of whom do want to upgrade to Jaunty, in a lurch due to ATI's stupid decision. I thought Intrepid had several more months of updates/support, at least up till the next LTS release. Does that mean I have to compile KDE 4.2.3 myself? So much for ubuntu being the distro of choice for the masses.
