Ok, so this is not really a Ubuntu issue, except for the fact that the computer runs Ubuntu and has for a couple of years. But I know this is a good forum to get advice from, so here goes:

I've got a Dell 8400 that's several years old. It's been running Ubuntu since 2006 or so and has had no problems until recently. A few months ago, it started randomly locking up. And I mean completely locking up. I'd have to give it the <alt><sysreq>REISUB to reboot it. Then after a while it got to where it would lock up sooner and sooner after rebooting and the magic keys stopped working. Holding the power button wouldn't even work. I'd have to reach around and pull the plug. Now it won't boot at all. The drives spin up and the usb ports get power, but there's no video output and no POST beeps at all. It just sits there until I pull the plug. Any ideas where to start?

Thanks.
