Video editing software?

My brother installed xubuntu on my home computer, so I am not familiar with linux. For a school project, I need to edit videos and add effects/ put in music/ add titles (similar to windows movie maker). What would be the easiest solution to my problem (what software should i download and how do i download it)?

You should definetly try KdenLive. It is a little more advanced than WMM, but is reasonably easy to learn.
Use 'sudo apt-get install kdenlive' to install.
