Hello, everyone!
I have a decent older soundcard...a LynxONE...that only runs on proprietary OSS drivers. I've gotten it working, but OSS doesn't support MIDI. Without some sort of MIDI functionality, I'm not sure if the card is viable for my purposes. This is unfortunate, as it is a good-sounding card, and I've spent days getting it to work...
I can get MIDI in/out of my system with a USB interface, so there's no need to actually tag the hardware soundcard.
My question is: Is it possible to run my OSS-dependent hardware for audio in/out, and use alsasequencer and the like for MIDI control? Or, barring that, is there an alternative solution I'm not aware of here?
