I am using Kubuntu8.04 and have set the power manager to put the my Toshiba tecra laptop into suspend mode if the battery life drops to 10 mins.
I am using suspend as hibernate does not work.
My problem is I get no warning that I am getting close to the point of running out of battery - the icon on the task bar often shows plenty of battery life left then, all of a sudden, I get the warning message telling me the battery is low and the laptop goes to sleep.
I seem to remember in older versions of power manager (or its equivalent) there was a setting to let you say at what battery life remaining you got a warning and at what remaining life the system shut down/went to sleep/hibernated.
Any ideas how to get enough warning to plug in power before it is too late?
