hi all,

recently when i was visiting this website...theonlydevice.com .... the browser(firefox) gave me a waring that this site may have virus and i need to install antivirus software..

I saw a thread in this forum where it said the user had got an anitivirus software called ClamTx from add/remove programs section... but i just got a program called "virus scanner"

r there viruses for linux??? i thought linux was free of viruses.. what antivirus software should i install??

i use ubuntu 8.10 x64 ... i have dual OS ubuntu and windows vista...
does the affected files in vista also created problems in ubuntu?

There are few viruses for linux, and none that I am aware of are 'in the wild' as it were.

Yes, there are antivirus and anti-malware programs for linux. I have CLAM AV running on my firewall and it scans the data going through to the network to protect all my computers, linux and Win alike.

In general no. If you are running a mail or file server (samba) with windows clients perhaps.

See the sticky at the tip of these forums.
