Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I've done some reading around and from what I can tell, HP TouchSmart desktops don't like Ubuntu... I've read that not only does the touch screen not work natively, neither does audio?

I did find this webpage about getting most of the features to work with Ubuntu: https://wiki.cse.unsw.edu.au/~jlennox/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/powmri/touchsmart (https://wiki.cse.unsw.edu.au/%7Ejlennox/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/powmri/touchsmart)

Can anyone confirm how likely the above is to work at getting the features working (I'm mostly concerned about audio), or whether there's any other certain way of getting it to work on an all-in-one TouchSmart PC? Generally, how well Ubuntu will work on it. The specs are here: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/8881302/Hewlett-Packard-TouchSmart-IQ820-Core-2-Duo-P7450-4GB-640GB-Blu-ray-Vista-Home-Premium-64-25-5-Desktop-Media-Center-PC/Product.html

Thanks for any help :)

Hi,

I looooove my IQ810 touchsmart on Ubuntu. Have touchscreen working (still missing right click), sound and everything else. It's a great computer runing ubuntu! Pretty cool doing all the compiz fx with my hands over the screen.

Also, you get used to working directly at the screen after a while. I find myself touching my work monitor only to find it does nothing at all...

So to answer your question: YES, it works amazing! Jaunty 9.04 amd64 on HP Touchsmart IQ810

Cheers.
