Hi,

Newbie here. Just installed Ubuntu9.04 on Dell XPS. Everything worked nice.

I tried to install and external monitor via DVI-out (Apple cinema 19inch). This prompted me to change something on Ubuntu (forgot what) and I accepted. It asked me to reboot, I did. For some reason the Apple Cinema was not properly recognized and I decided to not to use it anymore.

Now, the XPS has a issues with display. Everything is fine, but for line (horizontal) on the right half of the screen. I have to dramatically reduce the screen resolution to push the lines 'out of visibility'. Is there any way I can revert back to previous screen config? I tried playing around with display settings, no use.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!
Gopal

OK...I figured it out.

Restarted and booted in recovery mode.
Used the 'Try to auto repair graphic problems'.

All is well now!

Hope this helps someone else out there...

Gopal
