So I have a computer that I set up with mythbuntu jaunty, and I have a laptop with ubuntu jaunty on it. If I put a dvd in the myth machine, is there a way, with myth, that I can watch it from the laptop?
Any help would be appreciated.

myth itself can't do this in the fashion you describe.
You can rip the DVD to an ISO from the backend though and stream that if you wanted to. Or you can use VLC on both sides to play it - but that's a little more complex.

And if i ripped it to iso, what would I do to stream it to my laptop? I couldn't get that to work either.

If they are on a network, you should be able to play the file if you mounted the other shared folder(drive). At least that is the way I would envision it working.

oh, okay, so I mount the mythtv folder, and then I can play them from the frontend?
