View Full Version : [ubuntu] is it safe to just delete songbird?

I didn't install songbird. I just extracted the tar.gz file into my home folder and used it from there. is it safe if I just delete it using gnome since there is no way synaptic recognizes it.

You shouldn't have any problems if you just delete it.

Yeah :) If you just extracted the tar then it's fine to just delete.

Any .DEB you install appears in Synaptic

If all you did was extract it into your home folder then yes, you can delete the folder without affecting anything else.

you might also want to delete the config folders of songbird, interestingly I have two in my homefolder ~/.songbird1 and ~/.songbird2 it might look different on yours I guess.
