Lost on remote setup

Im trying to setup my mythbuntu pc and im having problems getting the remote to function properly. I have the microsoft remote receiver that comes with the media center remote but i dont actually have the microsoft remote. Instead, I want to use my Harmony 550 remote but when i set its profile to the microsoft remote im still not getting any activity in myth. Any ideas?

Try running "irw" from the terminal and then press a few buttons on the remote. That should let you know if the remote it working. If it is you just have to configure mythtv to do what you want it to given the press of the button.
