KAlarm problems - it's gone crazy

My KAlarm is going crazy.
I am running Hardy Heron 8.04.
KAlarm never really worked properly. At first it didn't start up with
the computer. When I put it in the sessions tray my scheduled alarms
starting popping up immediately and I
I started getting the error: "Failed to save calendar to:". Not surprising since
it was trying to save it to a file that didn't exist.
I couldn't figure out how to change the destination so I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
Now, my old alarms pop up continuously with the same error message.
As soon as I delete the multiple error messages, the alarms come
up again and the cycle starts again.

I love the program's design, but so far it has not been user friendly for
the likes of me.

Can anyone help?

I'm on 9.04 here, so it's kde4, but, if kalarm has not changed, you have to create a resource first on the left panel. On that left panel, select the "Active alarms" (or something like that, spanish here) and Add. Choose any name you want, and that should work.
