As usual, I'm baffled. Fulltilt poker was working fine in Wine then this morning, it won't launch suddenly. The only thing that I know that changed was the location of the launcher on the desktop - that surely should not make any difference.
I reinstalled and it worked once, now nothing happens when I click on the launcher or go to apps/wine/fulltiltpoker

I'm sure most programs won't work in wine. You can try these solutions:
Getting VMWare/VirtualBox and install a copy of Windows inside that
Getting CrossOver Linux from CodeWeavers
Adding the apt repo for wine from winehq and upgrading wine

Alas, I've misplaced my copy of Windows, or I'd have set this up as a dual boot. I don't know anything about Crossover Linux but when I installed wine, I did it through add/remove - won't the updates be automatic?

Add/Remove's version is old; the winehq one is more recent.

hmm, thanks for the tip. Right now, I have Poser working in the current wine and I'd hate to mess that up. Hope this isn't an either/or situation. I'd like to be able to use Poser and have my husband be able to play poker, as well.

Once you've had enough of dealing with wine, try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PokerTH

Not at all sure what I did but I fiddled around and fixed it...which is scary.
