Hello!
Wine is a program that alows you to run Windows programs on Linux.
I don't know if wine is installed on 9.04, but you can install it with synaptic by searching for wine then checking the install option.
I don't know the pros and cons but I do know that it does not run every windows program.
To see if a program works you can look in the app data base on wineHq or you can try running the program and seeing if it works.
Hope this helps.

WINE Is Not an Emulator.
Haha. (That's the project's original name)
It does allow you to run windows programs on Linux OS's and I think I read it works with Mac as well.
Very important for anyone running a computer with Linux.

Can anyone help with the install? Does it work with 9.04? I've tried several things over the last few days and I can't get anything to work.

Have you tried opening a terminal and typing: sudo apt-get install wine ? This is how I install it. Also not every Windows program works. Hope this helps.

Rather than hijack this topic, you might want to start your own topic and make sure you give specific information on your problems, like what application(s) you are trying to run, what version of Wine you are using, what error messages (if any) you have gotten from the application or Wine, your system specs, etc.
