View Full Version : [ubuntu_studio] Qsynth / Rosegarden Gives up after a couple of bars

Hi,

Running a clean install of studio 9.04 from the dvd with the rt kernel. Generally everything is working well but when I route midi from Rosegarden to qsynth I only get a couple of bars played, then no audio.

Rosegarden works ok with timidity (but no audio out in Jack so can't route into ardour).

The activity light on qsynth is flashing but there's no sound.

I've had this working ok in previous versions of studio on my hardware, so a bit baffled.

I've set rt memory to 76% and to be "nice" in ubuntu studio controls.

Its a relatively low spec PC but previous versions of studio have managed this ok. However i've noticed that even with nothing running CPU usage is hovering around 50%

Anyone know of any tweaks that may fix this?

thanks
GDS.

looks like a CPU bug from qsynth.
