Dear all

I've searched various forums (plural of forum shouldn’t be fora?) and didn't find yet what I am looking for. Maybe it does not exist or I didn't do a proper search. I also advice that I'm not a networking expert so, please, forgive me if I miss giving some needed information to help me or if this is not the proper forum to make my question

I work in a University where I have access to several scientific (not free) publications. At work, I can see that publishers' sites recognize the IP of the University. So I don't have any chance of accessing these sites at home.

What I'm looking for is a way of downloading files (namely pdf files) via remote access to my work PC. Both my home and work PCs have dynamic IPs, and in both I use Ubuntu 9.04 (alternatively I have a Win2000 PC at work). As you can guess, between home and work there is the University web administrators with firewalls and all their cryptic (for my knowledge) stuff.

Thanks in advance.
