While in a gnome session digikam doesn't recognize my camera. It's a Canon PowerShot A75. When I start a KDE session, everything's working as supposed. Any tricks to avoid starting KDE?

Wow, I never thought my question would bring up so many solutions. ;-) Is it too hard to answer or is nobody out there having problems with this?

Maybe I'm a bit impatient, but... Is anybody having trouble getting digikam to work properly in GNOME? Or is it working fine for you? I'm seeking for a proper solution but can't find one... Help is REALLY appreciated!
Thanks!

hi,
As suggested by the inappropriate K, digiKam is a KDE app; you'd be better off with a GNOME app in a GNOME desktop, at a guess. I don't play with digital cameras; suggest you repost in the multimedia forum.

I know that digikam is a KDE app. Until now it was no problem to use K-apps in Gnome and vice versa. Plus: There isn't such an app like digikam based on GTK2.
But anyway, thanks for your reply.
