so this isn't really that incredibly important, but something that i feel like trying. my school has a proxy server set up to use Lightspeed Systems and it requires the lightspeed client to be installed on any computer that is going to access the internet. my ubuntu 8.10 is installed to an external hdd so i can boot into it at school. does anybody know if there is a client available for linux so that i can use the internet with it?

Before you jump into using Wine, it's worth checking the CodeWeavers compatibility database to see if your app is listed as having been tested and to see the rating.

Below is one of their pages:

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?letter=l;showall=1;sort[app_name]=ASC;curPos=50

As you can see Lightspeed is not even listed. So, unless you're really lucky, it's not likely to work at all.
