Hi!

I have just dowlonaded and installed an upgrade for my Kubuntu 8.10 version
everything seems to look fine except one fundamental thing...

the KNetworkManager icon has disappeared from the quick menu on the bottom right of my screen

this has happened other times, however, when I search for the application (through the terminal or the graphic menu) I cannot find it

but if I ask adept to install it...it says it is already installed!!!

I have removed it and reinstalled through adept and the situation has not changed (it is still in the application that, according to adept I have, but I cannot find it nowhere...)

please help me...I am writing this thread using windows....(shame on me)
thank you
Abel

9.04 uses a new plasmoid (simply called Network Management) that needs to be manually added to your panel if you upgrade. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JauntyJackalope/ReleaseNotes#Network%20management%20applet%20must% 20be%20re-added%20on%20Kubuntu%20upgrade.

What happens if you press alt+f2 and type "knetworkmanager" (without the quotes)
