So here's just an lol story for you.

I logged into my bank account under XP and tried to upload a deposit using a scanner. XP found the scanner, installed the drivers, and when I got to the site, it couldn't scan, for whatever reason. So, I rebooted and loaded up Ubuntu.

I then went to the site and again attempted to do the same process, and much to my dismay, the deposit program won't work with Linux. So I'm wondering what to do since mailing it in would take more business days than I have to offer. (Just for a background, I have no local branch where I am located.)

That's when the lightbulb went off in my head. I installed Firefox for Windows under Wine, loaded up my bank's web site, and lo and behold, the deposit was completed. Sometimes you have to do stupid bass-ackwards things just to do something simple.

I'm wondering if you loaded user agent switcher for firefox under linux if it would also work. Just a thought.

I've seen some web sites say they don't work with linux (or whatever) but with the switcher I'm lying and it works just fine afterwards... even though they say it could never work :D

i have a teacher who needed an alternative for firefox on mac because the popups would be so extensive that they just flooded the screen and a reboot would be required

i installed darwine on her comp and lether load firefox, and the same popup came around but it was closable and it was locked as a small window :)
