Does JeOS benefit from 8.04 LTS?

I'm wondering if JeOS based on 8.04 will benefit from the server long term support. Will updates be available until 2013 as well etc.

JeOS is pretty much server edition but with the applications and extras not included. The core system is Ubuntu 8.04, which is LTS.
