Dell Studio 17 HDMI Sound

I have installed kubuntu 9.04 on a dell studio 17 and I can't run the HDMI sound . Does anyone has done work?

And how can I test the webcam?

This is a bit late, but install 'cheese' for the webcam test. or try skype.

i'm having the same issue with sound in ubuntu and windows as you are. some studio models with the x3100 intel graphics dont have sound throughput on the hdmi, so make sure yours is the right model (not with the intel 3100) and try booting up the computer when its already connected to the tv. this sound bug is a common issue with studios, tho, so looking around the web for solutions on windows might give you some hints as to fixing it in ubuntu.
