ac3 sound in vlc loses sync with reciver

Hello!

First, i'm a noob, i just want to make that clear! :)

I have VLC installed and configured so that it uses ALSA and spdif throughput and thats fine, but every now and then the sound dissapers and i get a low crackling noise in the rear speakers for 2 to 20 seconds.

As you can understand this is at the very least frustrating, and since i been fiddling with it for 2 days now and cant find a solution im really frustrated now...

i tried with puleseaudio, but i cant get it to play ac3 at all, it just plays stereo.

now i have tested with mplayer and that works flawlessly with ac3 throughput via alsa, no loss of sync with reciver at all...

the thing is that vlc can play .iso/.img files and mplayer can not, thats why i want to use vlc...

this must be a buffer error or a priority error?!?

anyonw know what my next move shuld be?
