Transparent pop ups [Archive]

In wine i get transparent pop up boxes. The text is very hard to read because of the text in the background. Is there a way to stop them being transparent?

What application are you running in Wine? We can't really troubleshoot the problem without full details. Are you using desktop effects? If so disable them. Are you getting any error output from Wine in the console? If so, post it.

The program is E-record 6. Its record keeping software from the ATO. Its pretty simple.

No error messages, it runs it fine. I also have no desktop effects. Standard Ubuntu 9.04 with visual effects set to none.
