It seems to gray and glossy for my tastes. Like the buttons look as if they're bulging out at you.

I only like the wallpaper, and that you're using Gnome.

Just stick with the first one. I like the color trends and creativity. The design has a critical thinking effect. The good and evil effect!

I agree.
Edit-> Speaking of which, any chance you can upload that wallpaper? (The good/evil one, not the illegal one)

i LOVE the first wallpaper... the second one needs to be deleted right now.
and i think the rest of both themes is pretty awful.

I agree. The first wallpaper is really good, although I think that good and evil are only irrelevant human constructs, but that's besides the point.
It doesn't seem like there was any kind of design put into practice, but looks like a mash-up of incongruent themes. The icons don't go with the wallpaper, the metacity theme doesn't go with the gtk theme, the gtk theme doesn't go with the icons or wallpaper. Especially the Vista knockoff metacity theme in the second shot.
This is personal opinion to be entirely disregarded with or without prejudice.

I'll refer you to the monthly desktop screenshot thread, the obsessive about making their desktop pretty mostly reside there ;)
