Thought of a new section or it caan be aa subsection even possibly in community chat thought id like to see people getting post count credit for it.

Its called Linux on the web whicch is basicly about web stuffed aimed and optiimised and usable by linux. For example.

Sreamtuner is a Linux gateway to Sshoutcast/Live365 etc

There is something new I read in a post on this forum called PenguinTV which is to view podcast and viddoe blogs.
http://penguintv.sourceforge.net/ (http://penguintv.sourceforge.net/)

Anyways there are aa hole bunch of Linux goodies out there and this maay help Ubuntu users find them.

That's kind of outside the scope of these forums (we're essentially focused on technical support for ubuntu) - and more relevant to a generic linux forum, but we can discuss it.

It could become a 3rd party project if you had users and/or developers using ubuntu and working on projects.

As for post count - please remember the primary purpose of these forums - which is to provide support to people using ubuntu (or wanting to.) If you are helping other users or sharing your ubuntu/linux knowledge with other users, your post count reflects our primary purpose.

I understand the thing about the forum primary scope, however this may fall into a Ubuntu usability scope in identifying web uses for ubuntu. This may be by identifying programs and web sites that make Ubuntu more usable on the web. I was thinking more on the lines of a comminity sub section but third party may also be usefull for identifying specificc programs that make it easier for Ubuntu to use the web.

Edit: Gess I could sum it up as saying it would be nice to have a section that idenifyies Ubuntu Friendlyy web programs and Web sites for such things as news, streaaming vidoe and programs that support this feature such as Streamtuner

That sounds less like you need a forum for discussion, and more like you need a page that gives people all the info.

Talk to KingBahamut about getting an info page or section on the Knowledgebase and/or write some HOWTOs.
