Hello all,

I am using Virtual Box at work in order to be able to use Windows XP on an Ubuntu server.
Is there a way to automatically shutdown Windows XP in a clean way ?

I use cron to automatically backup the computer and to shut it down every friday night. The thing is I would like to be able to properly shut Windows Xp in virtual box before shutting down the computer.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Piercleo

I have no idea what i'm talking about really, but could you perhaps write a scheduled batch files within your XP to shut itself down?
Something like this: http://samanathon.com/windows-tip-shutdown-your-computer-with-a-batch-file/

?

thank you for the answer. I was looking into a clean shutdown using cron but you are totally right, uit's much eaier to program the shutdown of xp directly into xp ! So simple i didn't think of it.

FYI, i am going to use this way of doing :
