I don't really now what PHP Maker does, but I suppose it is a PHP development environment. There's Aptana, Bluefish and also your favorite plain text editor.

PHP Maker is a PHP code generator for mysql database, it's very useful and I like it a lot, and I doesn't work for me on wine, so if somebody has it working on wine please advise us, or if somebody came a cross an linux alternative please tell us too.

PHP Maker is very useful indeed. You can try CMS Builder but you will need to buy a $200 license for EVERY single site that you make because you installed it on the website and then customize the database and so on. There's no way around that. It is written in PHP and works very well on any Linux server an I think it is a lot easier to use than PHP Maker. They have a 90 day money back guarantee as well. It's more an advanced CMS than a CMS builder/creator.
