Well I decided to give WoW another chance having read reports of massive FPS increases from the latest nVidia driver.

Dashed, utterly and completely :(

It was like trying to push a large rock around with the tip of a 12 foot fishing rod.

FPS in Dalaran between 20 going down to ............6

Mouse control , pathetic.

Delay casting, up to a second, and for a rogue, that is just plain not healthy.

Now heres the thing, wine has this listed as platinum.

Seriously, WoW in wine is "playable" if all you want to do is hang around in the beginner areas or duel in Lolshire.

End game, forget it.

What saddens me most, is that this is THE most popular game, and they even went as far as writing a beta linux client at one point.

Links between Linux and WoW are much better than most recent games, the Linux community , wine included should really be looking to improve their support for games.

I love Linux, but it aint ready for this 8 year old game.

Specs, AMD64 Dual 4600 , 4G RAM , nVidia 8500 plus trimmings

I get over 80fps on an Nvidia 8600 GT so I don't know what you're problem is.
Perhaps you aren't doing it right.

If you are having problems, wine does have its own section you know. Gaming and Leisure is for native games only.

So moved.

Not asking for solution to their problem, so troll-like thread is locked.

If you want help to your problem, then post exactly what you have done, and what is not happening. Thank you.
