I'm using VB to emulate XP and test out some front ends for my future carPC set-up. I recently changed my ntoskrnl.exe with a modified version that changed my boot-up screen. Now, whenever I try to boot XP, I get a "missing autochk" error; it skips autocheck, and then the virtual system shuts down. I've tried safe-mode, debugging mode, and last known config, to no avail. Any suggestions?

Alright, did some searching, and the problem seems fairly common for people Dual botting XP and Ubuntu. It seems the XP partition hides itself; usually you can just open it in GParted and unhide it, but since mine is through Virtual Box, it's not an actual partition; right? So, how would I go about doing this?
