IT says on the download page ,if u want to check the MD5 hash and for 100% security you should download from a https site ;yet the links ubuntu reccomend seem to be mostly HTTP and FTP.. How do we know we can trust these?? . Youd think if the offical website was going to provide download sites thed listen to there own advice.I downloaded from the university of kent site but as its ftp am unsure if the operating system would be secure .Is this the case? ?

As stated above easy to check and there faster through ftp/http, doesn't have to encrypt then decrypt...
