View Full Version : [ubuntu] WiFi card causing lags.

For a while I've had 2 seconds lags that came up from time to time and I wondered what it was. With a few research, the linux driver for my WiFi card came up when the lag was about. After sometime on forums I found a guy whose wifi card was overheating and causing lags and problems like that. Is there any ways to fix this except for changing the wiFi card which would be difficult and would take my laptop away for a month again for fixing by professionals.

The sound Card is a

Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN

and the Kernel driver in use: iwlagn

When the lag happened, the process iwlagn was on top of the list and took 68% of my total Ram.

When I deactivated my Wifi card the lag wouldn't happen anymore.

Is there something I can do for this?
