For almost every piece of software in the Synaptic Manager it says the following:

I never had this problem with 8.10. The 9.04 is a fresh installation, no upgrade.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Dennis

Did you use the correct cd for your processor type?
Does this problem happen when you run from the livecd also?

I used the normal x86 cd. I can't test it live because I temporarily borrowed a external dvd drive to install it. Is there any other Macbook air owner who is using jaunty?

Dennis

After updating updatemanager it doesn't give the error anymore.

However, I installed Desktop Effects, tried to enable it at Appereance settings and it says: "Could not be enabled"

Anyone?

Thanks,

Dennis

Could it be that the nvidia drivers aren't installed? If so, how do I install them? The normal pkg1.run from nvidia itself doesnt seem to work.

you should use the hardware drivers tool to install the nvidia drivers.

I have the same problem after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04:

* nvidia drivers gone
* unable to install via System->Administration->Hardware Drivers (only wireless drivers show up)
* was not successful in installing myself
