Evening all,

Thinking about purchasing one of these small, sleek external hard drives.

Would like to check first if anyone has had any experience of using this drive with ubuntu 8.10?

Any compatibility problems?

Thanks,

I had one and it worked fine until I accidentally broke it. No compatibility issues as far as I could tell.

same, i have one now and love it. carry it all the time. or at least until i messed it up a week ago and now i need to find 200 gigs of free space to back stuff up so i can reformat. other than that it works perfectly in every computer i put it into

Nice, thought i'd better check first as you do hear the odd tale or two of 'duff' products requiring major 'surgery' before working with linux platform.

I am now suitably comforted.

Thanks,

Late in but I've got a 320GB WD and it's great

I formatted it to ext3 as it comes with NTFS(?) and some sort of software which I didn't want/was for windows
