I have a problem with naitive Linux games only displaying a black screen when they load. I can hear the sound playing and it seems to boot up without any errors.

I have compiz running and working, atleast I can zoom out into cube mode and all the effects seem to be working.

I get this error when run something from a terminal:
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".

The compiz check gives me:

I don't know if this will help but there is a wiki page about your laptop here that has some notes about graphics fixes.
