Dell XPS m1330 External Mic

Has anyone had any luck getting a external mic working in Ubuntu 9.04 on a Dell XPS m1330? The old tricks I know no longer work.

I have had no luck getting the Mic to work. Has anyone been able to get it to work on 9.04?

I cheated and got a Plantonic 450 USB headset. It is a great headset.

Open up the GNOME Volume Control. Select the tab options and set Digital Input Source to Analog inputs and all three Input Source to Front Mic.
